You'll be out in the community every day, walking properties, having genuine conversations with homeowners, and helping them figure out exactly what their home needs. No high-pressure tactics, no smoke and mirrors. Just honest advice, clear communication, and real solutions. You'll show up to local events, build relationships across Rapid City, and become the person people think of when something goes wrong with their roof.

Responsibilities

  • What you'll be doing:
  • Get out in the community, meet homeowners and property managers, and build the kind of relationships that turn into long-term business
  • Walk properties and assess what needs to be done — you'll become the expert people trust to give them a straight answer
  • Put together clear, professional estimates and walk customers through exactly what they're getting
  • Close deals the right way, with honesty and confidence, not pressure
  • Stay on top of your pipeline and follow up consistently so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Work hand-in-hand with our office and production teams to make sure every project kicks off smoothly and every customer feels taken care of
  • Keep up with products, materials, and industry trends so you're always the most informed person in the conversation
  • Represent Built Right with pride, how you show up matters, from your appearance to how you treat every single customer

Education Requirements

  • None

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years in sales

Desired Skills

  • A natural ability to communicate clearly and confidently — whether you're walking a homeowner through an estimate or presenting a full project scope
  • Strong organization and time management — you're juggling multiple leads and jobs at once, and nothing slips through the cracks
  • Comfortable tracking your pipeline and keeping your CRM updated
  • Sharp attention to detail when reviewing estimates and project scopes, you catch what others miss and take pride in getting it right
  • Quick to pick up new technology and software, you don't need hand-holding, you just need the tool

Qualifications

  • Strong communicator who can hold a real conversation and make people feel at ease
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own schedule and stay accountable
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on job sites in varying weather conditions
  • Honest, professional, and the kind of person who does what they say they're going to do
  • Bonus points if you have:
  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, or any people-facing role
  • Background in construction, roofing, or home improvement (helpful but truly not required)
  • Existing relationships or roots in the Rapid City / Black Hills community
  • Experience using CRM software or basic tech tools
